Darren Clarke
Barclays Capital has been a sponsor of international golfer Darren Clarke since 2002. Darren is a stalwart of the European tour and was a proud member of the winning 2006 European Ryder Cup Team. Darren is a dedicated and focused individual whose team spirit has earned him respect from his peers and the public. He is also a dedicated worker for charity and has set up his own Darren Clarke Foundation to develop junior golf in Ireland and raise money for Breast Cancer awareness.
Phil Mickelson
In March 2008 Barclays welcomed Phil Mickelson to the team. Phil is a great ambassador and role model for the game of golf and ranks second in the Official World Golf Rankings. Phil is the only American to play in all seven Presidents Cup matches and the last seven Ryder Cups, both further tributes to his remarkable consistency.
Barclays Capital has sponsored
Freddie Flintoff
A great ambassador for both his sport and for our firm, his outstanding achievements and inspiring personality make him a truly unique individual as well as a respected and passionate team player.
Probably the most famous sponsorship is the Barclays Premier League which pits the top 20 football teams against each other over the course of a season, which runs from August to May in England. The league has a massive fan base globally as well as its home country and is regularly described as the best and most exciting football league in the world.
The 675,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue will be home to the professional basketball team the Brooklyn Nets. For the first time since the Dodgers left in 1957, Brooklyn will have a major league sports team to call its own. The Barclays Center will welcome some of the most exciting sports and entertainment events in the world: concerts, fine arts performances, circuses, college basketball games, ice shows, and music award shows are just some of the possibilities.
The Barclays Center will be a community centerpiece for the borough. Primary Nets owner, Forest City Ratner Companies has worked with local organizations to ensure the venue is an integral part of the community, where local college and high school athletes will have a new stage to showcase their skills. The Center will also host thousands of proud families and friends for college and high school graduations.
